NOW AVAILABLE ONLINE!

This is my DIY KIT debut. Developing this kit has been a very exciting experience! The design discussion, the packaging, the colors, the "making of" the MI AMORE tutorial.....OMG that alone made me feel like an octopus! Its like suddenly I grew  few extra pair of hands...you know ...one hand holding the project, one hand holding the camera, one hand handling the lighting, one hand holding pliers.... :))

I am a practical person. I know that when it comes to doing wire craft, there will be moments of "oops"  , "oh dear"..."alamak!". It's ok, "To err is human". I can assure you, much thought has been put into this project to make it as interesting, simplified and practical.

so, lets see what we can find in this DIY KIT,

1. one spool of 18 gauge silver plated copper Designercraft Wire,

2. one  spool of 24 gauge silver plated copper Designercraft Wire,

3.  50pcs of jablonex czech fire polish 4 mm faceted round glass beads in either honeybutter or wheatberry,

3. two feet of 20 gauge silver plated copper Designercraft wire,

4. about 70 pictures of step by step pictorial divided into, 4 sections,
a. how to make the "mi amore" earring hoop
b. how to make the jump rings
c. how to make the earring hooks
d.  earrings assembly

4. All these materials packed in zip-locked bags and all packed in a handy plastic envelope so that you can actually do it "on the go".

In truth, much is spent on the making of the pictorials. Printing cost alone is BIG.
Many sell their tutorial online in PDF format at min around USD5 x 3.5 = RM18
No printing cost. If you purchase and download such tutorials and print it out the cost of printing is on you too.

With this DIY KIT few process are eliminated such as buying wires, choosing the colors, downloading PDFs and printing them.
MOST IMPORTANT, I will provide online support for you to the best that I can. You can email me anytime and I will reply as soon as possible.

All you need are the basic tools for wire craft, purchase the kit and you are on your way to making your first "MI AMORE" (meaning, MY LOVE) earrings :)

HAPPY CRAFTING! :)

this DIY kit is now available at beading.my

BONUS !!!
with every DIY kit purchased you will get the tutorial for this project, FREE!

M, UNLIMITED

Hi everyone!

It has been awhile since I wrote about anything.  Not that I am out of words or ideas and it's a cliche to say I am BUSY...I mean who in this world isn't? :)  right?

It's amazing, how I travel thru this journey learning, teaching and doing something I love and meeting amazing, incredible persons along the way. The things I learned as I teach is a very humbling experience, like my english language, my bahasa Malaysia, my "in-correct"  methods and especially when my credibility is questioned. I am not perfect nor do I strive to be BUT I believe in improving myself.

I do feel a bit snag but I am not one who will let that thought play around in the head. I believe in moving forward and so I will. I don't like to explain myself either but there is no harm in sharing some stories that taught me plenty along the way :)

Why it doesn't matter to me if I dont follow everything by the book when in fact I get my knowledge from the book?

Grab yourself that cuppa and popcorn............ :)

When my husband and I tied D' KNOT, we were only 22 when everybody else was building a career in their professional life. The no.1 question was, "Are you sure?"
The no.2 question, "Are you sure?" and you can guess the following questions. They are all the same, "Are you sure?"  truth be told, we didn't answer the question BECAUSE it's not relevant. HOW does one know for sure? To us then it was sink or swim. We swam...and still swimming nearly 17 years thru jelly fish, sharks, whales, turtles ...dolphins :)

When we had our first bundle of "OMG! :) ", we were 23. Does the child born come with a manual? NOOOOOOOOOOO.  then when we had our second bundle of "OMG, OMG", we were 25. This time, the child not only didn't come with a manual BUT he came without warranty too...if you know what I mean. Its something you cannot return BUT I learned how to make the best of a situation. I read. I read a lot on how to raise a child when at that time I didn't know about ADHD (attention deficit hyperactive disorder), asperges, borderline autism, ADD (attention deficit disorder), LD(learning difficulty),  concrete child.

I know he is like this and this and this and when the book says do this and do that....It didn't work. That is when I LEARNED that things just cannot be the same for everyone. The book teaches you something, doesn't mean that you have to follow it 100% correctly.

I learned how to come up with my own way of dealing with the situation. Some may disagree BUT to me its up to the individual. The method is secondary, primary objective is the result achieved (provided it's not against the law). Our son didn't go for any therapy after diagnosis because the psychiatrist said, "I dont know how you did it BUT whatever you are doing is working very well with him".

Then finally the third bundle of " THANK GOD!". When we got to know of her existence, the doctor treating me for an earlier illness told us that the child may be born with some defects if not severe. We were advice to....*sigh ....................Abort. We cant do it and ready to accept his blessings. It was 9 months of fear, tears, prayers, wishes, treatment. Finally  ( I cant believe it. Even after ten years I still get teary eyed telling  you her story ) she came along and so thankful that our faith in acceptance gave us a complete and VERY cheeky child :)

Again, if I had followed everything as how they studied the side effects of some medication, our third bundle would have been aborted.

What is a piece of paper? That says, M you have graduated with a degree in business administration. What does that mean to me? NOTHING.

What is my core now? Crafting. What does that mean to me? So much PASSION. My outlet for every inspiration, idea bottled up in me.

Do I have a piece of paper that says M, you have graduated with a degree in craft from craft university? NO. I dont have it. Nor do I have any type of certificate of participation for any craftwork. the only certificate of participation I have is Advance and Defensive Driving :)

So where do I get my knowledge? Within myself...it comes naturally. OF course the hundreds of books and periodicals play a very important role BUT I dont let myself be too rigid and conform to every rule of thumb. It must come from the heart and soul and let it out.

Art and creativity is unlimited. pleaaase tell me, what is correct or in-incorrect when it comes to art and creativity? When two people see a piece of work, one will say its art and the other may think it's a load of crap.

When I teach, I dont want my students to feel like it's a long list of rules that will just complicate matters. It's the M way. Just be yourself, do it as you feel it. It's all about enjoying crafting. It's a therapy for the soul.

So when my credibility to teach is questioned, with so much humility I say, I am not certified by a piece of paper. I teach what I know and as how I know it and the M way is more towards not following everything by the book BUT God willing, you will learn something and create something and it will be YOURS, crafted your way.

I hope, I have not scared any potential students :))))))  for this is me. I believe in myself, I believe in my work. Its  M, unlimited.

:)

I AM BACK! :)

Hi everyone! i am back :)

first and foremost, "Selamat menyambut Awal Muharam" and  may all of us start the new calendar year  with prayers to Allah swt for good health physical and spiritual and prosperity always, amin.

:)

On my trip, met evelyn and her beautiful kids Rowena and Rosanna and evelyn's sister Bibianna. We had a wirework session and Rowena proved to be a very very talented kid and wire working just comes naturally! Seeing Rowena's interest in freeform designs, i showed her how to create her own designs and just let it all flow out from the head and heart :)

I also bought some really beautiful sea water cultured pearls and fresh water pearls. Really enjoyed the pearl shopping trip and i also found some very nice pink, blue  and purple agates , probably dyed but very nice colors :)

i will be posting pictures soon...not in these few days though coz i have to complete several orders and prepare for a class this saturday. as soon as everything is settled will do it asap .

i can't wait to start crafting again!

till then, take care :)

In2wire craft workshop: Student's Creation

Great work on your first try at wire wrapping!

This is Haslina's second class with me. The first class she learned how to make a spiral bracelet, which i have forgotten to take pictures.....really i must must make the effort to remember that . After few workshops i have done and forgotten to take photos, darling hubby suggested that i ask my apprentice to tag along just so she can take some snapshots coz i will for sure not remember! :)

In2wire CRAFT WORKSHOP

Girls! You have all been fabulously patient with me and i THANK YOU very much :)

It was good exercise for me  going around and helping with each one of you and it was great to see your  enthusiasm and spirit to do the projects. For some its your first experience doing the wirework craft itself and i would say, great job! :)

Perhaps some of you may find it a little bit difficult at first but don't sweat it. In no time with practice you will master little details like making the spirals, hook and jump rings. As i said to Hui Ping later after class, even for me to master making the jump rings, i practice on one spool of wire! and that is a whole lot of jump rings, about 250pcs of em  :)

as you "let yourself go" into the craft, you will notice how easy things will get soon after and in no time you will be creating your own creation. I know we all want to do it right, but even for me its always still a learning process and as time pass by, you will just get better and better.

This craft will define the meaning of patience and your patience will be paid off with a beautiful piece of jewelry handcrafted by you.

Take care and smile always :)

M

p/s

During the workshop, each student received one Box containing printed color tutorials, 2 spool of wires, one beadbox containing some choices of beads for you to work and as a bonus if you noticed, you have more crystal donuts to work on for few more extra creations for intermediate class and for the elementary class i have added on two extra glass beads with different color choices :)

Jewelry Making Benefits For Kids

few days back, my friend suggested that i do some research about how jewelry making hobby can benefit growing children. As we all know, art and craft is always one of the subjects in every school education module. why is that so?  i have not gone into depth with regards to this but what i have found so far has definitely made me glad that i have been doing craftwork with my kids as young as they were 3 years old!

My kids enjoy making jewelry and ever since i started teaching them the more creative part of wire working jewelry, they have become more and more creative beyond my expectation. just shows that there is no age boundary to creativity and skill. Children are like sponges. they will absorb everything we teach them and lets just instill good positive ones and hope it will stay on with them and pass on to future generations to come.

so with whatever little information i have manage to "google" so far, let me share some with you.

:)

M

BENEFITS OF ARTS AND CRAFTS - JEWELRY MAKING FOR KIDS

Young children are very active. They are learning so many different things such as dressing themselves, eating properly and being social. Everything that a child does is a critical part of his or her development and a very important part of their life. You hear a lot about crafts for young kids and how important it is to introduce them to making crafts but have you ever wondered why it is so important?
There are many benefits associated with introducing young children to crafts.

  • Crafts help to inspire the imagination and creativity
  • It keeps the child active and entertained in a positive way
  • It encourages hobbies
  • They make great family gifts
  • Crafts provide a sense of accomplishment for the child
  • It gives the parent a little extra free time

Crafts can be almost anything that you can imagine. For instance, kids can draw their own pictures and color them. They can cut pictures out of magazines and glue them on construction paper or put together a scrapbook. Making jewelry or macrame are crafts that children love. Even knitting and crocheting are excellent crafts for kids that help to build character.

Most of the time you can find everyday household items that can be used in craft making. Add some colorful construction paper, glue, crayons, paint or markers designed for children and who knows what you can come up with. You can also buy craft kits that can make specific designs by following simple easy directions.

Kids learn fast and the crafts they do today could turn into future hobbies they can always enjoy. Crafts help to build the character and self-esteem that children need to make it through this life. Help your child develop his or her creativity by introducing them to crafts at an early age.

The Art of Living With the Help of Jewellery Making

Everybody loves buying and wearing jewellery. But there are some people who love making them too. Apart from the jewellery maker, the goldsmith etc., there are people who love making jewellery as a hobby. Making jewellery can be quite a satisfying and fulfilling hobby. It also brings about positive changes in us. And therefore many parents and schools encourage this hobby among children. In this article we are going to look at some of the benefits that jewellery making brings about in our life.

Jewellery making is a creative activity - and therefore it
enhances creative thinking. This creative thinking also trickles to other aspects of life as well. If you are involved in jewellery making, your hobby helps you think creatively in various situations in life. You start to resolve problems in a creative way. Everything you do, has a touch of elegance in it - and that would also impresses not just yourself, but also others who come in touch with you.

Jewellery making also
improvises your organisational skills. You tend to grow an uncanny sense of how things are to be done and where and how the resources would get utilised. It builds your concentration power and you can focus on things pretty well. And having a strong ability to focus and concentrate is very helpful and critical in every sphere of life.

Helping your children take part in this activity would not only help them build these soft skills, but also apart from these,
jewellery making would instil self confidence in them. If you too are actively involved in your child's project, it will help you spend quality time with them. They would connect with you better and that would strengthen the bond of love further. Having made the
jewellery, your child can wear them and this in itself is a great pleasure - a great feeling of exhilaration.

written by paul shane. Paul Shane cherishes a hobby of studying and collecting Jewellery, to dig out the making and story behind them, especially the rare or exquisite ones, also the Pearlsbeing used for manufacturing the jewellery. He also loves studying consumer behaviour related to jewellery selecting and buying. At present he is associated with a leading group called E-Beads Limited.

Jasmin's Crafty Mind

Not to be left behind, aisyah's sister JASMIN.
Jasmin is only 9 years old, but obviously VERY ambitious. She wants to be just like her big sister and mum and proudly crafted these two rings [with one more coming up soon] as part of J's Ring Triology :)  by applying the circle of life wrapping method i taught her earlier.

I love to do art and craft with my kids because it encourages them to  think. I encourage them to come up with something new and creative.

Jasmin decided to make it into a pendant to give to her cousin sha sha as a birthday present :)

Aisyah's Creations

This posting is dedicated to aisyah. She loves art very much and very passionate about her craft. As my apprentice, part of her task is to re-construct my jewelry designs using pictorials i created as her guide. To know whether my pictorials worked or need more detailed instructions, she will test it for me.  if its an effective tool, she need not ask me anything but if she needs more information then i know that the pictorial has some flaws.

I encourage every student of mine to be creative in their own way. No doubt getting ideas from beading mags, books and tutorials can help but coming up with something new is always a challenge.

One method i taught aisyah is to start something with an open mind and heart. To get  ideas thru this way is very difficult but once you get the idea..it will just flow from your heart and into your work.

To come up with an original work sometimes can finish up to one full spool of wire...but as we all know to succeed, you must first fail. With all the techniques and patterns we are so familiar with, apply some of these but make it your own.

The bracelet below is designed and crafted 100% by Aisyah. With no reference, she twisted the wires and added the beads as how she feels would look right to her eyes. No doubt  its a tad rough, but with some polishing, she can be very shiny in this craft :) After all, aisyah is only 15...and she has a long way to go.
well done!

Sayang Pendant

I learned to do this type of wire wrapping from yati from riqzmie creation who is a very generous person with all her knowledge about wirework and other techniques. She gives out free tutorial  and always happy to help. Thank you Yati. Its much appreciated :)

I applied this method to Puteri Kayangan necklace and bracelet set. To further practice, i did this pendant too.

Constructed using non-tarnish natural copper Artistic Wire, clear crystal quartz.

Life is like a box of chocolates.....

Hello everybody,

Is life really like a box of chocolates?  if you happen to like everything chocolate...say chocolate with nuts, chocolate with raisins...plain chocolate, dark chocolate...orange chocolate...then i guess anything that you pick out from the box will always be a gud thing. BUT what if you only like milk chocolate and ONLY that?

i know the saying means that "you will never know what you will get"  and its right. You can pick one and it can be something you like or something you just hate...and sometimes....you can get chocolates with maggots!..and that must be the down low part of life.

Last week, had several things going that is like a box of chocolates. Two people that i had the privilege of knowing passed away within days of each other and both died of cancer. They were both young and i hoped they had lived their life as they wanted and made good of it. I  always hear the saying, LIFE IS SHORT.  i on the other hand, believed that life is as long as you lived it. Its never too short if you live your life by doing things that you love and do it good.

My son was also hospitalised last week for about a week. He is already discharged but recovery is pretty slow but we know that he will be ok. After hearing some  sad news of frens dying young, his recovery is definitely something we are so thankful to God.

AND as icing to a cupcake for this week ending,  i received a LOVELy surprise from a perfectly friendly stranger whom i made frens with recently thru my site. She took the trouble to send to me lovely lovely beads that she purchased recently and its all the way from Sarawak. THANK YOU to you, who has been so kind and thoughtful. May God bless you  and may your kind heart stay true and happy always :)

Its 4.05am. I know its late, but there are just so many things to do. Time will never wait for us. Once its past its past. So we have to find the time or make time for whatever we want to do. Even though its late, I am happy that i am able to complete one project that i have been saving for quite awhile just so i can concentrate and to pour in more of artistic idea into it and i hope it shall be well received :)

till then... take care  :))
